GAC has announced the Australian specifications for its EMZOOM compact SUV, ahead of the brand’s first local model rollout on 18 November.
The EMZOOM will be offered in a single trim level and will join the AION V electric SUV and M8 PHEV people mover as part of GAC’s launch lineup.

Powering the EMZOOM is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 125kW and 270Nm, driving the front wheels through a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.
GAC says the transmission can shift “down to 0.2 seconds”, with fuel consumption rated at 6.6L/100km on the WLTP combined cycle.
The EMZOOM enters the increasingly competitive compact SUV segment, going up against vehicles such as the Chery Tiggo 4, GWM Haval Jolion, Mahindra XUV 3XO and MG ZS.

In China, where it is sold as the Trumpchi GS3 EMZOOM, the model is priced from roughly 90,000 to 120,000 RMB (around $19,000–$26,000 AUD) depending on specification.
Externally, the EMZOOM uses GAC’s latest design language with a large grille, split LED headlights and a full-width rear lighting signature.
It measures 4410mm long, 1850mm wide and 1600mm tall, with a 2650mm wheelbase.

Inside, the SUV includes a 14.6-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, supported by a 50W wireless phone charger.
Other equipment includes a ventilated driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, an openable panoramic sunroof and ambient interior lighting.
Storage space is listed at 341L with the second row up, expanding to 1271L when folded.

Convenience features include a powered tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, automatic LED headlights and electrically folding mirrors.
Standard safety equipment extends to six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, tyre pressure monitoring and an immobiliser.
Driver-assistance systems include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera and automatic parking.
The EMZOOM’s body structure incorporates a combination of high-strength and hot-stamped steel around key cabin and load-bearing areas.

Suspension is handled by a MacPherson front setup and a torsion-beam rear arrangement.
Pricing and warranty details for the EMZOOM, AION V and M8 PHEV will be revealed at GAC’s Australian launch event.
Earlier this month, GAC separately confirmed full specifications for the AION V electric SUV, which will be sold locally in Premium and Luxury trims.
