CarSauce Buy 2.0 is out now.

MG has announced a series of updates for the 2026 ZS compact SUV, addressing hybrid performance issues, improving comfort features, and launching nationwide plate clearance offers ahead of the new model’s arrival.

As part of the plate clearance campaign, MG is offering a $2000 cashback on current ZS models until 31 October 2025.

Drive-away pricing now starts at $23,990 for the ZS 1.5 CVT Vibe, $26,990 for the ZS 1.5 CVT Essence, $25,888 for the new ZS 1.5T Turbo Vibe, $28,990 for the ZS 1.5T Turbo Essence, $30,990 for the ZS Hybrid+ Excite, and $32,990 for the ZS Hybrid+ Essence.

For 2026, the ZS Hybrid+ receives updated software aimed at delivering smoother throttle response, stronger high-rev power, and quieter operation at higher speeds.

MG claims the recalibration also improves regenerative braking and reduces combined fuel consumption to 4.7L/100km.

The refinements follow CarSauce’s earlier testing, which revealed that the ZS Hybrid+ could lose acceleration when its battery charge was depleted.

MG confirmed the issue in early 2025 and released a software fix, which this new update further builds upon with more consistent hybrid performance under varied driving conditions.

All 2026 ZS variants will also feature tilt and telescopic steering adjustment as standard, improving driver ergonomics.

Core safety systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot detection, and autonomous emergency braking remain unchanged.

The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 125kW and 275Nm, has been expanded to the base Vibe variant for the first time - previously reserved for higher trims.

Pricing for the turbo Vibe begins at $25,888 drive-away.

Styling updates include new 17-inch alloy wheels on the Vibe and 18-inch designs on the Essence and Hybrid+ models.

All MG ZS variants continue to be covered by a 10-year warranty when serviced through MG’s authorised dealer network.
