GAC has confirmed the Australian specifications for its all-electric AION V SUV, which will launch locally in November.
The medium-sized model will be offered in two trims - Premium and Luxury - with pricing and warranty information to be announced closer to launch.
In China, the AION V is priced between 129,800 and 189,800 yuan, equivalent to approximately $27,750 to $40,550 AUD based on the current exchange rate of 4.68 yuan per Australian dollar.

Official Australian pricing is expected to be higher once taxes, logistics, and local certification costs are applied.
Measuring 4605mm long, 1854mm wide, and 1686mm high, the AION V is around 10mm shorter than both the Kia EV5 and Geely EX5, placing it in the same size category.
It is larger than the BYD Atto 3 but smaller than the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7, positioning it among Australia’s growing mid-size EV SUV offerings.

Built on GAC’s 400V electric platform, the AION V is powered by a 150kW front-mounted electric motor producing 210Nm of torque.
It uses a 75.26kWh LFP battery offering a claimed 510km WLTP range, with DC fast charging from 30% to 80% achievable in 16 minutes using a 180kW charger. An 11kW AC charger can fully recharge the battery in around 8.5 hours.
The AION V incorporates GAC’s Magazine Battery 2.0, designed for improved durability and fire resistance, with flame-retardant electrolytes and dual-layer liquid cooling.
Safety systems include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and i-Size child seat compatibility.

Inside, the cabin features a 14.6-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone climate control with a heat pump.
Rear passengers benefit from up to 1.1 metres of legroom, while the boot offers 978 litres of storage with the rear seats folded.
The Luxury trim includes additional comfort features such as a 6.6-litre built-in refrigerator capable of cooling to –15°C or warming to 50°C, front massage seats, and premium interior materials.
Both trims include ventilated and heated front seats, wireless charging, and a 360° camera system.
Cheney Liang, Deputy General Manager of GAC Australia, said the company is “delighted that Australians can now experience this feature-rich SUV,” noting its availability in more than 20 markets worldwide.
