Potent 2026 BMW M2 CS Announced for Australia

The 2026 BMW M2 CS has been unveiled, with the high-performance coupe set to arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2025 (October to December inclusive).

Offering less weight and more power, BMW says the M2 CS can cover the 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.8 seconds.

Along with a 30 kilogram weight reduction, the M2 CS’s 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine borrows its tune from the M3 and M4 Competition models, putting out 390kW and 650Nm – a jump of 37kW and 50Nm compared to the standard M2.

BMW has electronically limited the M2 CS to 302km/h.

However, unlike the M3 and M4 Competition cars – which are all-wheel-drive – the M2 CS is rear-wheel drive, utilising an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and an M Sport rear differential.

The coupe has been lowered by 8mm and features a suspension set-up unique to the M2 CS.

For those using the car on track, carbon-ceramic brakes are available as an option for $19,000.

A carbon-fibre roof and special body-kit – including a duck-tail rear spoiler – are standard, as are the Gold Bronze alloy wheels, which are exclusive to the M2 CS, and are 19 inches for the front axle and 20 inches at the rear.

BMW has manufactured many of the exterior and interior panels from carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) to reduce weight, helped by the heated lightweight M Carbon bucket seats in Merino leather.

Alcantara and carbon-fibre features throughout the interior, along with illuminated ‘CS’ logos on the door and seats.

The M2 also comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen running BMW Operating System 8.5.

Those behind the wheel can customise their preferences for engine, suspension, steering, brakes, and traction control, while the M Drift Analyser shows the angle and duration when the car is sideways on the track.

Buyers can choose from M Portimao Blue, M Brooklyn Grey, and Black Sapphire exterior colours at no cost, or upgrade to Velvet Blue metallic as part of BMW’s Individual program.
The 2026 BMW M2 CS will be available to order now from $172,900 before on-road costs.
