The BMW X4 is set to be dropped from the company’s line-up later this year, and customers will have to wait at least a year to get anything like it.
The X4 is believed to only have around six months left of production before the mid-size SUV-coupe is axed completely by BMW.

While a new generation of its sibling – the wagon-bodied X3 – was unveiled in mid-2024, BMW told Motor1 at the time the company has no plans to follow it up with the sleeker X4.
However, it’s understood the X4 will eventually be replaced with an electric version, to be named the iX4.

An industry insider, known only by his screen name ‘ynguldyn’, claims the X4 will end production in November 2025, with production of the iX4 to begin in November 2026.
While yet to be confirmed, it’s believed a high-performance electric iX4 M is also on the cards.

The X4’s direct rival, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, is also expected to be killed off.
Both BMW and Mercedes-Benz have been guilty of saturating the market with ever-thinning niche models in recent years, offering both wagon and coupe variants of their small, medium, and large SUVs – along with electric versions.
