CUPRA Australia has announced a run-out offer for the Leon V hatchback, with prices starting from $35,990 drive-away.

The Leon V is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 140kW and 320Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a 12-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a full suite of driver assistance technologies.

At its new drive-away price, the Leon undercuts the Hyundai i30 N Line by $1,000, which is priced from $36,990, and sits $11,000 below the Volkswagen Golf Style at $46,990, which is priced similarly to the upcoming 2026 Leon V.

The announcement follows slow sales for the Leon in Australia. VFACTS data shows 34 units sold in September 2025, with 197 units delivered year-to-date.

The sharp pricing comes ahead of the updated 2026 CUPRA Leon, due in Australian showrooms in November.

The new model introduces fresh styling, a wagon body style for the first time, larger infotainment screens, upgraded interior materials, and new engines with mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid options.

Prices for the 2026 Leon will start at $46,990 before on-road costs for the entry-level S hatch, up to $64,990 for the VZx hatch, with the Sportstourer wagon starting at $69,990 in plug-in hybrid form.

The outgoing Leon V and VZ models will not return in the new line-up.

This run-out offer applies to existing dealer stock of the Leon V, while other Leon variants, including the VZ and VZe plug-in hybrid, remain available but are not part of the promotion.
