Cupra Australia has announced local pricing and arrival windows for its high-performance flagship, the Formentor VZ5.
The model will launch at a recommended retail price of $94,990, which equates to a national driveaway cost of $101,990.
This performance-focused crossover will be limited to fewer than 100 units for the initial Australian allocation.
Manufacturing is set to take place between May and December 2026, with first deliveries expected from late 2026 through March 2027.

The Formentor VZ5 is powered by a 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine sourced from Audi Sport.
This iconic powerplant is the same unit found in high-performance Audi models including the RS3 and the RS Q3.
In the case of the Cupra Formentor, the engine has been tuned to produce 287kW of power and 480Nm of torque.
For comparison, the same engine produces 294kW and up to 500Nm in the latest Audi RS3 sedan and hatchback.
While slightly detuned compared to its Audi counterparts, the VZ5 retains the signature 1-2-4-5-3 firing order and offbeat exhaust note.

Technical hardware shared with the Audi RS range includes an electro-hydraulic torque vectoring rear differential.
This system enables a dedicated "drift mode" for... closed-circuit driving.
The Formentor VZ5 should complete the 0–100km/h sprint in 4.2 seconds.
Drive is managed via a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission and a permanent all-wheel-drive system.

Spicy visual and functional upgrades distinguish the VZ5 from the standard Formentor range.
The exterior features flared wheel arches, a carbon-fibre front splitter, and 20-inch alloy wheels finished in black and copper.
The rear of the vehicle is fitted with a carbon-fibre bumper insert and diagonally stacked, copper-tipped quad exhaust outlets.
Standard interior equipment includes Sabelt CUP bucket seats with carbon-fibre backings and a premium Sennheiser audio system.
Options are limited to premium paint for $790 or matte paint finishes for $3,300.
