A slew of new electrified Skoda's are set to arrive in Australia, including the Epiq and Vision 7S with both the Superb and Kodiaq PHEV versions under evaluation.
The electric Epiq compact SUV and the production version of the Vision 7S Large SUV are both set to move into production in 2026, each built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, with Australian arrivals likely for 2027.
Skoda showcased the Epiq concept in March 2024, with an expected electric driving range of over 400km, 490 litres of luggage capacity, and an expected starting price of around $42,000.

The Epiq is expected to slot into the Skoda range below the larger Elroq and facelifted Enyaq electric SUVs due in Australia in August and September respectively.
The Vision 7S electric SUV – likely to be badged as the Eviatiq – was initially unveiled as a concept in 2022, and is expected to achieve a driving range of over 600 kilometers on the WLTP cycle, likely positioned as the flagship of the Skoda SUV range.

Both the Epiq and Vision 7S are currently undergoing testing in Europe.
The Superb and Kodiaq Plug-in Hybrid models remain under evaluation for the Australian market while they undergo local testing.

Both PHEV models are currently offered overseas, each powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 25.7kWh capacity battery and an electric motor with a combined system output of 150kW, with both capable of achieving over 100km of electric-only range on the WLTP cycle.
Tests on the Superb and Kodiaq PHEVs to ensure their suitability for Australia’s climate and road conditions have already been completed overseas and CarSauce understands that local testing is around a third of the way to completion.

The specifics of the local business case, including pricing, positioning and specification are also being developed simultaneously.
A Volkswagen Group Australia spokesperson says a decision on the Australian introduction of the Superb and Kodiaq PHEVs will be made once these processes have been completed.
“There is currently one Superb PHEV and one Kodiaq PHEV in Australia, both undergoing local evaluation. The introduction of both Superb and Kodiaq PHEV is pending the outcome of that evaluation and a business case, which is expected in the coming months.”
Further details on the Epiq, Vision 7S, and Superb and Kodiaq PHEV models – such as Australian pricing and specification – are yet to be announced by Skoda.
