Skoda has introduced the new Kodiaq RS in Australia, priced from $69,990 before on-road costs - a decrease of $600 compared to the outgoing model.

The seven-seat SUV will serve as the flagship of the brand’s local Kodiaq range, with a Volkswagen representative explaining to CarSauce they expect a 50% uptake for the trim.

The updated model is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 195kW and 400Nm, up from 180kW and 370Nm.

It is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission and all-wheel drive.

Skoda claims a 0–100km/h time of 6.6 seconds and fuel consumption of 8.5L/100km. The SUV is rated to tow up to 2000kg with a braked trailer.

The Kodiaq RS features adaptive suspension, progressive steering, and six drive modes. A new Dynamic Sound Boost system is also standard.

Externally, the model includes 20-inch wheels, matrix LED headlights, RS-specific bumpers, and black exterior detailing.

Inside, the SUV is equipped with a 13-inch central infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and tri-zone climate control. Upholstery combines leather, Suedia, and carbon-effect trim.

Other standard features include heated and ventilated front seats with memory, heated outer second-row seats, and a 14-speaker Canton premium audio system.

Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto along with wireless charging are provided.

Safety equipment includes nine airbags, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera.

The Kodiaq RS is covered by Skoda’s seven-year/unlimited kilometre warranty. Buyers can also access service and maintenance packages.
