The 2026 Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake has been unveiled in Europe, marking the German brand’s first ever electric wagon, with hybrid variants also on the way next year.

Two variants of the electric CLA Shooting Brake have been named so far: the 250+ with EQ Technology and the 350 4MATIC with EQ Technology.

Both variants will be equipped with an 85kWh battery, offering a claimed 761km of WLTP range for the 250+ and 730km for the 350 4Matic.

Charge for 310km and 300km of WLTP range can be taken on in just 10 minutes for the 250+ and 350 4MATIC respectively.

The 250+ arrives with a single motor with an output of 200kw and 335Nm, achieving 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds.

The 350+ will have two motors and all-wheel-drive – producing 260kw and 515Nm – with a 5-second 0-100km/h time.

The electric CLA Shooting Brake is also equipped with a two-speed gearbox on the rear axle, with first gear optimised for acceleration and second for efficiency and performance at higher speeds.

The CLA Shooting Brake sports a 455-litre boot, a 50-litre increase over its sedan counterpart. This space increases to 1,290 litres with the seats folded.

Like its sedan counterpart, the Shooting Brake also has a 101-litre frunk.

An Australian release for the sedan variant for the electric CLA has been confirmed, although local pricing is set to be confirmed closer to its expected launch date in 2026.

While plans to bring the Shooting Brake variant to Australia remain unconfirmed, it is understood that the model is under consideration for a local release.

The European launch of the 2026 Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake with EQ Technology is set for March next year.
