BMW Australia has announced the addition of two new electric vehicle (EV) variants, the iX2 eDrive20 and iX2 xDrive30, to its lineup. Both models will be priced below the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) threshold of $89,332, qualifying them for exemptions from LCT and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).

With the new iX2 variants, BMW Australia will offer a total of six EV models priced below the LCT threshold. The iX2 eDrive20 is priced at $82,900, and the iX2 xDrive30 is priced at $85,700, with deliveries expected to commence in Q1 2024.

Both iX2 models will join BMW's existing lineup of sub-LCT EV variants, including the iX1 eDrive20, iX1 xDrive30, i4 eDrive35, and iX3 M Sport. The iX2 eDrive20 features a front-mounted drive unit with 150kW of system output and a 64.8kWh high-voltage battery that enables a range of up to 477 kilometers on the WLTP cycle.
