Chery has released the MY26 Tiggo 7 in Australia, available in two specification levels – Urban and Ultimate – priced from $29,990 and $33,990 driveaway, respectively.
The new model is arriving in dealerships this month, replacing the MY25 Tiggo 7 SE and SE+ grades, which have been renamed in line with the Tiggo 4’s naming structure.
The arrival confirms details we reported earlier this month, where Australian government type approval documents revealed the SUV would move from a 1.6-litre turbo engine to a smaller 1.5-litre unit.
Unlike the outgoing model, the MY26 Tiggo 7 adopts a smaller 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 108kW and 210Nm, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
This replaces the 1.6-litre turbo petrol used in MY25, which delivered 137kW and 275Nm through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Fuel efficiency has improved, with the MY26 Tiggo 7 achieving a claimed 6.9L/100km on the combined cycle. While it now shares the same 1.5-litre turbo engine as the Tiggo 4, the Tiggo 7 is rated as more efficient than the Tiggo 4’s 7.4L/100km claim.
Equipment levels have also shifted. The entry-level Urban includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED projector headlights, dual-zone climate control, twin 12.3-inch digital displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker audio system.
Features such as leatherette upholstery, power-adjustable driver’s seat, Sony eight-speaker audio, and satellite navigation – previously fitted to the MY25 SE – are not listed for the new Urban grade.

The Ultimate grade, priced $4000 higher, adds a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, synthetic leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, powered front seats, wireless phone charging, a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, and a powered tailgate.
Like the Urban trim, Sony-branded audio from the MY25 SE+ has not carried over to the MY26 Ultimate.
Safety features include seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and tyre pressure monitoring.
The Tiggo 7 continues to be backed by a seven-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, capped price servicing, and roadside assistance.
