MG Motor Australia has unveiled the updated ZS HYBRID+, bringing enhancements to its popular compact SUV lineup. Available in two variants — Excite and Essence — the new models are priced from $33,990 and $36,990 driveaway, respectively. This release introduces a full-hybrid powertrain to the ZS range, marking a significant step for MG as it continues expanding its HYBRID+ offerings.

The new ZS HYBRID+ is equipped with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine paired with a 100kW electric motor. The combination produces a maximum power output of 158kW, supported by a 1.83kWh NCM battery, making it one of the largest in its class. The vehicle’s fuel consumption is rated at an efficient 4.7L/100km. An optimised three-speed hybrid transmission enhances power delivery, complemented by the Intelligent ECU that adapts propulsion modes in real-time for balanced performance and efficiency.

Now standard for the range is the inclusion of the MG PILOT Safety Suite. Key safety features include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Detection, among others, to improve on-road safety.

The 2025 MG ZS HYBRID+ sees a range of subtle exterior changes designed to refresh its overall look. The front grille has been adjusted for a more contemporary appearance, while the LED headlights have a slightly updated shape to align with current design trends.

The bumpers have been reworked to include new air intakes, intended to improve airflow. At the rear, the taillight design has been modified for a cleaner light signature. Additionally, the model now offers updated alloy wheel designs — 17 inches on the Excite and 18 inches on the Essence — for a more modern finish.

Inside the cabin, updates focus on enhancing practicality and technology. The dashboard now features a revised layout with a 10.1-inch touchscreen for easier access to infotainment functions. Material updates, such as soft-touch surfaces, aim to improve the tactile experience.

The Essence trim includes additional features like leatherette seats and a panoramic sunroof, providing a slightly more upscale feel. New tech inclusions, such as a digital instrument cluster and wireless smartphone charging, are also available to meet current driver expectations.

Both Excite and Essence trims are backed by MG’s 10-year, 250,000km warranty. Deliveries for the ZS HYBRID+ have already commenced in Australia, aiming to attract customers seeking efficient and versatile compact SUVs.
