MG Motor Australia has confirmed the return of the naturally aspirated MG ZS 1.5L Vibe for the 2026 model year.

The entry-level variant arrives with a promotional drive-away price of $22,990.

This positioning officially makes the ZS Vibe the most affordable new SUV currently available in the Australian market.

The return of the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine follows a period where the manufacturer had removed this specific powertrain from the local ZS lineup.

As covered by CarSauce in November last year, the removal of the naturally aspirated option previously saw the ZS range shift toward more expensive turbocharged and hybrid configurations.

By reintroducing the Vibe trim for MY26, MG has lowered the entry point of the range to target the budget-conscious segment of the compact SUV market.

At $22,990 drive-away, the MG ZS Vibe undercuts recent low-cost SUV entrants including the Chery Tiggo 4 and the Mahindra XUV3XO.

Within the broader Australian new car market, the only vehicles carrying a lower price tag are light hatchbacks such as the Kia Picanto and the MG3.

The model is designed to provide a high-riding alternative for buyers who do not require the performance of a turbocharger or the efficiency of the HYBRID+ system.

Standard equipment for the MY26 ZS Vibe includes a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen.

The system supports smartphone integration via wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The exterior is fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels, halogen headlights, and LED daytime running lights.

Safety remains a central focus for the variant, which features the MG Pilot Safety Suite.

This package includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Detection, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The vehicle is also equipped with a reverse camera and a far-side airbag, with MG stating the technology is engineered to achieve a 5-star safety rating.

MG Motor Australia Business Director Kevin Gannon stated that the ZS Vibe is designed for drivers who want modern technology and safety without overcomplicating the ownership experience.

He noted that the return of this variant reinforces the brand's strategy of providing accessible mobility for Australians.

The vehicle is backed by MG’s 10-year warranty, provided the car is maintained within the brand’s authorised dealer network.
