MG Motor Australia has officially confirmed local pricing and specifications for the new MG7 fastback sedan.

The 2025 MG7 arrives in a single 'Essence' trim level, priced from $44,990 before on-road costs.

This new model positions itself in the mid-size sedan segment, featuring a 2.0-litre turbocharged powertrain and adjustable mechanical components.

Under the bonnet, the MG7 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, that delivers 170kW of power and 380Nm of torque.

Drive is sent to the front wheels exclusively via a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Mechanical standard equipment includes an Electronic Limited Slip Differential (e-LSD) and Electronically Controlled Adjustable Suspension (CDC).

The vehicle connects to the road via 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with 245/40 Michelin tyres.

MG claims a combined fuel consumption figure of 8.0L/100km, with the engine requiring 95 RON premium unleaded fuel.

Exterior dimensions are listed at 4884mm in length, 1889mm in width, and 1447mm in height, on a 2778mm wheelbase.

Design features include double-pane frameless glass doors and a deployable active rear spoiler.

Boot capacity is rated at 375 litres with seats in place, expanding to 1040 litres with the rear seats folded.

The standard paint finish is Emerald Green Metallic, which attracts no additional cost.

Optional metallic paints, including Pearl White, Black Pearl, Andes Grey, and Diamond Red, are available for $695.

The interior cabin is equipped with a 10.25-inch Virtual Driver Information Display and a 12.3-inch colour touchscreen.

Multimedia connectivity includes satellite navigation, wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Bose 14-speaker audio system.

Front seats are upholstered in leather and feature heating functionality.

The driver’s seat offers 6-way electric adjustment with memory, while the passenger seat includes 4-way electric adjustment.

An optional interior package priced at $695 adds Bordeaux Red suede-like trim, Alcantara front seats with PU leather bolsters, and a microfibre roof lining.

Safety specifications include the MG Pilot suite of driver aids and seven airbags, including a far-side airbag.

Active safety technologies include Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Detection.

A 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors are standard fitment.

The manufacturer states the vehicle is designed to meet 5-star ANCAP safety standards.

The MG7 is supported by a 10-year warranty, provided the vehicle is serviced at MG dealerships.

Kevin Gannon, Business Director of MG Motor Australia, said:

“Set to be a definitive challenger in its class, MG Motor has taken timeless design cues and wrapped them around a stiff, high-quality chassis, dripping with tech, premium finishes and fun features”.
