The 2026 model year update for the Mitsubishi Triton has been detailed ahead of its Australian launch in May, with changes focused on suspension tuning, technology, and minor specification updates.

Pricing for the updated range starts from $37,090 for the GLX 4x2 Single Cab Chassis and extends to $65,590 for the GSR 4x4 Double Cab Pick-Up. Across the range, that adds $200 to $300, although the GSR is an extra $1,000 versus before.

The model line-up continues to include Single, Club and Double Cab body styles, offered in both Cab Chassis and Pick-Up configurations, with 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains available across the range.

All variants are powered by a 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel four-cylinder engine producing 150kW and 470Nm, paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission depending on grade.

The key mechanical update for 2026 is a revised suspension setup applied across the range, including changes to front spring rates, shock absorber valving, and rear damper diameter.

Mitsubishi states these revisions aim to improve ride comfort and reduce harshness while maintaining handling characteristics.

Rear suspension configurations remain split between a four-leaf setup on GLX and GLX+ models, and a three-leaf arrangement on higher grades.

At the top of the range, GSR Pick-Up variants gain YAMAHA Performance Dampers, mounted across the front and rear of the chassis.

According to the manufacturer, these components are intended to improve body control, steering response, and stability while reducing vibration and cabin noise.

The GSR also introduces MITSUBISHI CONNECT for the first time on Triton, adding embedded telematics with 4G connectivity via the Telstra network.

This system includes features such as emergency assistance, automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle tracking, and remote vehicle functions accessible through a mobile app.

Elsewhere in the range, the GLS grade receives minor exterior updates including a black Dynamic Shield and mirror caps, along with additional interior storage in the form of two dashboard-mounted cup holders.

Standard safety equipment continues to include forward collision mitigation with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control on automatic variants, blind spot warning, lane keeping systems, and multiple airbags.

Infotainment is centred around a 9-inch display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a 7-inch driver display and available surround-view camera on pick-up variants.

The updated Triton range is scheduled to go on sale in Australia from May 2026.

Before I traded the corporate suit for steering wheels, I worked in management consulting at KPMG and in the aviation industry after finishing my Commerce degree at Melbourne Uni.‍ That business background helped me turn a passion project into what CarSauce is today, but my real goal is to make sure our reviews stay entertaining and honest. When I’m not deep in car specs, I’m usually on camera trying to keep Jacob in line - though, as you’ve probably seen, that’s easier said than done!
