Toyota Australia Announces Gazoo Racing Range Updates for GR86, Supra and GR Corolla

Toyota Australia has detailed upgrades for its GR86 performance coupe, with a focus on added safety features and performance modifications. The GR86 manual variants will now incorporate autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with leading vehicle notice, previously available only in automatic models.

The GTS grade of the GR86 has an optional Dynamic Performance Pack available. This package equips the vehicle with ZF Sachs sports shock absorbers designed to maintain a consistent posture during cornering.

In addition to suspension modifications, the braking system of the GR86 GTS sees changes. New Brembo four-piston front calipers and two-piston rear calipers have been introduced, a shift from the earlier two-piston front and single-piston rear brake configuration.

Toyota has also updated colour options across its GR range. The GR Supra will have a Plasma Orange variant, which will take the place of the Silverstone Yellow. Meanwhile, the GR Corolla will offer an Eclectic Blue shade, complemented with blue stitching for the interior trim.

Sean Hanley, Vice President of Toyota Australia, commented on the company's efforts towards product development, mentioning that the latest additions to the GR86 reflect both safety and performance considerations for Toyota customers.

Summary of Model Changes:

GR86 (manual variants):

  • Inclusion of Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB).
  • Addition of Lane Departure Alert (LDA).
  • Integration of Automatic High Beam with an oncoming vehicle dimming feature.

GR86 GTS:

  • Availability of an optional Dynamic Performance Pack with ZF Sachs sports shock absorbers.
  • Brake system update with Brembo four-piston front calipers and two-piston rear calipers.
