A special edition of the HiLux-based Toyota Fortuner SUV has been introduced in India, boasting aesthetic tweaks and equipment list additions.

The Fortuner Leader Edition was initially offered in 2024, but has now returned to Toyota’s Indian lineup.

Available in 4x2 configuration – which is available overseas but not in Australia – and in both manual and automatic guises, the Leader Edition is powered by a 2.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine producing 150kW and 500Nm of torque.

Its exterior tweaks include a revised grille design, chrome front and rear spoilers, black alloy wheels, and a black two-tone roof.

2025 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition

Customers have four exterior colour options to choose from for the Leader Edition, those being Silver, Attitude Black, Pearl White, and Super White, while the inside sports two-tone black and maroon seats and interior trim.

Auto-folding mirrors, illuminated scuff plates, and a tyre pressure monitoring system are also included as standard with the Leader Edition.

The Fortuner Leader Edition was initially introduced in India last year, before returning to Toyota's India lineup (2024 version pictured)

Toyota are yet to officially announce pricing for the Leader Edition, but it is expected to cost more than the existing variants of the 4x2 Fortuner currently on sale in India, ranging between ₹33.65 lakh (around $57,700 as of October 2025) and ₹36.41 lakh (around $62,500), while possibly sitting below the entry-level 4x4, starting from ₹38.11 lakh (around $65,400).

However, the Leader Edition is only confirmed for an Indian release, and it is highly unlikely we’ll see it sold in Australia or indeed any market outside of India.
