Australia’s Top 10 Best-Selling Vehicles of May 2025

The Toyota HiLux has once again topped the list of Australia’s best-selling vehicles.

The popular Toyota ute once again overtook the Ford Ranger – thanks to sales of the 2WD HiLux – according to combined sales data provided by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) and the Electric Vehicle Council (EVC).

It’s the second month in a row the Toyota HiLux has taken the top step of the podium, after CarSauce exclusively reported the model was ending production – ahead of a new-generation HiLux expected in late 2025.

While the Toyota RAV4 has held onto third spot, it was the recently-updated Tesla Model Y which surged to fourth position.

The Toyota LandCruiser Prado dropped one position, rounding out the Top Five.

In sixth spot, the Isuzu D-Max ute overtook the Ford Everest, which dropped from fourth to seventh in one month, while the Mazda CX-5, Toyota 300 Series LandCruiser, and the Hyundai Kona filled the final Top 10 slots.

It’s the first time the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series has made the Top 10 sales chart in 2025, following the off-road SUV’s update last month.
