In a little over a week, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 will make its global debut.
Toyota has released a teaser for the RAV4, confirming the reveal date for 21 May 2026, accompanied with the tagline: “The Countdown to the Next Adventure Begins.”
The announcement comes just months after images of the RAV4 were leaked online.
While it’s unclear whether the model is a Chinese-market car or a global model, the images show the RAV4 adopting Toyota’s C-shaped headlights and a honeycomb-style front grille, along with a boxier and altogether more aggressive body shape.

It’s believed the new RAV4 will be a significant update of the current vehicle, however almost all facets of the SUV are expected to be upgraded by Toyota engineers to keep the model competitive for years to come.
Under the bonnet, new-generation hybrid technology is also expected to be added to the new RAV4, while as yet unconfirmed reports claim a plug-in hybrid version is in development.

Toyota’s local arm has yet to make any announcements on the new RAV4, though a plug-in hybrid model is a good chance for the Australian market.
