Technical specifications and equipment levels have been revealed for the 2026 Suzuki e Vitara, the brand’s first electric vehicle, which is scheduled to launch in Australia in June 2026.

A two-tier range will be offered, the front-wheel drive Motion using a 103kW/193Nm motor powered by a 49kWh lithium iron-phosphate battery for a claimed maximum range of 344km.

The all-wheel drive Ultra increases outputs to 135kW/307Nm courtesy of a second motor on the rear axle, while a larger 61kWh battery increases the claimed range to 395km.

DC charging can top up both battery packs from 10-80 per cent in 45mins, while at the maximum 11kW AC charging rate the Motion takes 4.5 hours from 10-100 per cent, while the Ultra adds an hour to this.

At 4275mm long, 1800mm wide and 1635mm high with a 2700mm wheelbase, the e Vitara is slightly smaller than a Hyundai Kona Electric by 80mm in length and 25mm in width, though it’s also 55mm taller with an extra 40mm in the wheelbase.

A MacPherson strut front end is teamed to a multi-link rear with 18-inch wheels and 225/55 tyres along with 180mm of ground clearance for light off-roading.

All e Vitaras will have seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist and departure warning, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, auto lights and wipers, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

The entry-level Motion is equipped with fabric upholstery, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, 10.1-inch infotainment screen with smartphone mirroring, front and rear USB ports, a four-speaker stereo, single-zone climate control and 12-colour ambient lighting.

Stepping up to the Ultra adds adaptive high beam, LED front fog lamps, a glass roof, Infinity sound system with subwoofer, wireless phone charging, premium fabric and leather upholstery, heated front seats and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

The great unknown is pricing, which will be revealed closer to the car’s mid-2026 launch.

According to Suzuki Australia, Michael Pachota, “The e Vitara represents the next chapter in the evolution of one of Suzuki’s most recognisable nameplates, combining our compact SUV heritage with advanced electric technology, modern design and the practical thinking our customers expect from Suzuki.”
