Zeekr has confirmed that Australian customers will be able to get behind the wheel of its new 7X electric SUV from October 6, ahead of the first customer deliveries scheduled for October 15.

The 7X enters the competitive mid-size EV market with pricing starting at $57,900 before on-road costs.

Positioned as a rival to the Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Toyota bZ4X, the 7X offers three variants: a standard RWD, a Long Range RWD with up to 615km of claimed range, and a Performance AWD producing up to 475kW.

All versions feature an 800V electrical system, fast-charging capability of up to 450kW, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality. The cabin brings a 16-inch touchscreen, 13-inch digital cluster, panoramic glass roof, and extensive standard safety equipment including autonomous emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring.

At 4787mm long with a 2900mm wheelbase, the 7X sits squarely in the medium SUV class, offering 539 litres of boot space with the rear seats up.

With test drives opening on October 6, prospective buyers will soon have their first chance to experience Zeekr’s new electric SUV before deliveries begin later in the month.
