The Isuzu MU-X Tour Mate Special Edition is making its return to the brand’s seven-seat SUV lineup, priced at $79,990 drive-away.

Reintroduced for the 25.5 model year following its debut in 2024, the Tour Mate adds nearly $9,000 worth of towing, exterior, and interior accessories to the MU-X LS-T 4X4 variant.

According to Isuzu, with its added equipment, the Tour Mate’s pricing equates to savings of over $7,600.

The list of towing additions includes a tow bar kit with a 50mm ball, a 12-pin flat wiring harness, and an electric brake controller.

Outside, the Tour Mate also gains a black steel bull bar with integrated parking sensors and fog lights, slimline weather shields and Tour Mate badging, while inside it gets wireless phone charging, rubber floor mats and a boot cargo liner.

These features join the existing equipment list of the MU-X LS-T, which already includes 20-inch alloy wheels, leather seats, heated front seats, a nine-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, roof rails, and LED exterior lights.

Output figures from the 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine - mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and dual-range four-wheel drive – remain unchanged, producing 140kW and 450Nm

With the tow bar kit equipped, the MU-X Tour Mate boasts a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes.

Prospective MU-X Tour Mate owners have seven colours to choose from, including Mercury Silver, Mineral White, Magnetic Red, Cobalt Blue, Basalt Black, Moonstone White Pearl and Obsidian Grey.
