Isuzu UTE Australia has announced pricing and specifications for its updated MY25.5 D-MAX ute and MU-X SUV ranges, introducing a new 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine to replace the 1.9-litre. The updated models will be available from October 1, 2025.

The new 2.2-litre RZ4F-TC engine produces 120kW and 400Nm, paired with an Aisin-sourced eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

It delivers 255Nm at 1,000rpm, around 60 per cent more than the discontinued 1.9-litre. The engine is based on the 1.9-litre but features a larger bore and stroke. Claimed combined fuel consumption is 6.3L/100km.

The 3.0-litre 4JJ3-TCX engine remains available, producing 140kW and 450Nm, paired with an Aisin six-speed torque-converter automatic also used in the Toyota HiLux.

This engine now includes Idle Stop-Start, improving claimed combined fuel economy by around 10 per cent.

At launch, Isuzu will offer selected models with drive-away pricing, including the D-MAX SX 4×2 Single Cab Chassis with alloy tray from $36,990, the D-MAX X-RIDER 4×4 Crew Ute from $56,990, the MU-X LS-M 4×2 from $48,990, and the MU-X LS-T 4×4 from $69,990.

Pricing for 3.0-litre models is unchanged, though the engine will begin to attract penalties under Australia’s New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES) from 2026.

With this update, manual transmissions are no longer available on any D-MAX or MU-X. Both engines deliver 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity, while D-MAX SX single cab 2.2L models provide payloads of up to 1,350kg.

Ground clearance measures at least 230mm across both line-ups, and wading depth remains rated at 800mm.

All models feature Isuzu’s Intelligent Driver Assistance System (IDAS) as standard, which now includes Traffic Jam Assist, Post-Collision Braking, and a Gen4 stereo camera. Selected MU-X grades add a 360-degree Surround View Monitor.

Colour options have also been updated, with Wolfram Grey Metallic replacing Granite Grey on selected D-MAX grades.

The MU-X X-TERRAIN now offers Slate Grey Metallic as an exclusive finish.

Aftersales support continues with five years of capped-price servicing at $469 annually, a six-year warranty, and up to seven years of roadside assistance.
