Queensland has begun deliveries of the world's first officially licensed Harry Potter-themed number plates.

Fans of the book and film series can order personalised number plates from a choice of five designs, including Gryffindor in red, Slytherin in green, Hufflepuff in yellow, and Ravenclaw in blue – all based on the famous houses at Hogwarts.

A white-on-black plate featuring the Hogwarts crest is also available for students of the witchcraft and wizard school.

Buyers can choose from a combination of three letters with two or three numbers in any mix.

Kylie Cook from Moreton Bay ordered ‘799OTD’ – a reference to the enchanted flying Ford Anglia owned by the Weasley family.

“I love this plate from [Personalised Plates Queensland] so much,” Ms Cook said.

“It feels like I’m speaking a secret language with my fellow Harry Potter fans.”

While some simply see a series of books and blockbuster films, Harry Potter taught important lessons about life, while also providing solace to many fans.

“I was going through something really traumatic in 2021, and Harry Potter helped me through it,” Ms Cook added.

“It brought me light when I needed it most.”

Themed number plates have become increasingly popular in recent years, with motorists able to share their passions with the world – whether it be a football team, fishing, or pop-culture, among many others.

The Harry Potter range of number plates is available to order from $495 through the PPQ website, found here.
