For the 2024 model year, the Lexus UX SUV will exclusively feature electrified powertrains, offering a hybrid (HEV) and a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) option.

The hybrid model, previously branded as UX 250h, has been upgraded to the UX 300h, with an 11kW increase in power, resulting in a total system output of 146kW.

This update follows enhancements to the battery-electric UX 300e model, which included a larger 72.8kWh battery to increase its driving range by an additional 200 kilometers.

In response to a shift in consumer preferences towards electrified vehicles, Lexus has discontinued the UX 200 Petrol model in the Australian market. The 2024 UX range also integrates the latest Lexus Safety System technologies.

John Pappas, Lexus Australia's Chief Executive, stated the UX model has provided a combination of hybrid performance, design, and quality since its introduction in 2019.

The recent updates aim to improve the vehicle's performance, fuel efficiency, and safety features. Among the upgrades are an improved engine and exhaust system, a switch to a more efficient lithium-ion battery, and reduced fuel consumption figures.

The UX 300h now also features a shift-by-wire system.

The starting price for the UX range is set at $55,370 for the UX 300h Luxury 2WD. Various model configurations and optional Enhancement Packs are available across the lineup.

The UX 300e, Lexus's all-electric offering, continues to be available in Luxury or Sports Luxury grades, with a stated driving range of 560km on the NEDC cycle.

Safety enhancements include the addition of the Lexus Safety System+, which introduces functionalities like Safe Exit Assist and improved pre-collision detection.

The vehicles will also receive over-the-air software updates for the latest safety and infotainment technology.

Interior updates feature a larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for the UX 300h Luxury models and a color head-up display for the UX 300e Luxury variants.

The multimedia system has been updated to support wireless smartphone pairing, and new color options are introduced for both the exterior and interior.

Lexus offers an ownership experience package for UX 300h buyers, which includes a complimentary three-year membership to Lexus Encore, and for UX 300e customers, a tailored Encore Electrified membership. This package provides benefits like complimentary home charger installation and access to selected public fast chargers.
