Genesis has showcased two models, the redesigned GV80 and the new GV80 Coupe, at an exclusive event in Korea, marking the brand's continued entry into the SUV segment.

Since its debut in January 2020, the GV80 has sold over 170,000 units in the global luxury SUV market. The updated model introduces changes to both its exterior and interior, featuring new designs and increased safety measures.

The GV80 Coupe, a fresh addition to the Genesis range, adheres to the brand's “Athletic Elegance” design philosophy. Previously previewed as the GV80 Coupe Concept in April, it is powered by a 3.5-litre petrol turbo 48V electric supercharger (e-S/C) engine.

Graeme Russell, Chief Brand Officer of Genesis, commented on the introduction of the two models, noting that they aim to cater to the varied preferences of luxury car enthusiasts.

Changes to the GV80's exterior include a Two-Line Crest Grille and Two-Line headlamps, developed using MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology. It also introduces a new emblem, chrome trim, and two additional wheel designs. The vehicle’s colour options have increased to 12, with the inclusion of glossy and matte Storr Green.

Internally, the GV80 presents a 27-inch-wide OLED display, an updated Shift By Wire (SBW) system, and a selection of materials such as leather, aluminium, and wood.

The GV80 Coupe has design elements similar to the GV80, with MLA-powered LED headlamps and a double-layered Crest Grille. It also features the Parabolic Line and wheel designs specific to the model.

The GV80 offers two powertrain options, including a 3.5-litre turbo engine. In contrast, the GV80 Coupe has three engine choices, one of which is the 3.5-litre turbo 48V electric supercharger (e-S/C) engine with 415 horsepower. Both vehicles have incorporated driving technologies to aid in stability and driving experience.

Safety has been addressed with both models having a range of technologies, from airbags to advanced driver assistance systems.

Genesis will display the GV80 and GV80 Coupe at Genesis Suji and the Busan International Film Festival in October for those interested in viewing them.

Summary of Key Changes:

  • Redesigned GV80 Exterior: Introduced Two-Line Crest Grille, Two-Line headlamps using MLA technology, new emblem, and two wheel designs.
  • GV80 Interior: 27-inch-wide OLED display, updated Shift By Wire system, and a variety of materials including leather, aluminium, and wood.
