Behind the Scenes with Matt Brand

Hey everyone! Ever wondered what it's like to run a car review and news channel like CarSauce?

Well, thanks to Hyundai, I'm bringing you a special look into a day in my life, Matt Brand, founder of CarSauce.

This has been one of the most requested videos, and I'm finally ready to share the chaos, fun, and hustle of being a car YouTuber.

8:30 AM - Starting the Day with Willie

My day started bright and early with a walk for my energetic dog, Willie. Willie is a golden retriever-poodle mix, full of energy, and he's a big part of my daily routine. Despite not being a fan of cars, Willie loved our trips to the park.

He was safely buckled up in the back seat of the new Hyundai Santa Fe, my ride for the day. With heated seats and a heated steering wheel, this car was perfect for the chilly mornings we've been having.

Walking Willie was my moment to clear my head before the craziness started. As he ran around, I mentally prepared for the day ahead. It was a small but crucial part of my routine, setting a positive tone for everything that followed.

9:45 AM - The Daily Grind

After Willie's walk, it was time to dive into the work. My inbox was flooded with emails every daycar bookings, embargoed video reviews, coordinating with my editor. It's all part of the morning hustle.

Today, I needed to review a video set to release soon. After watching it and taking notes, I sent my feedback to the editor. With the emails answered and the video notes sent, it was time to head out for the day's errands.

11:20 AM - Picking Up the Passport

One of today's tasks was picking up my passport from the Chinese Embassy. I was set to travel to China in a few days for a car launch, followed by a trip to Korea for another event. It was a packed travel schedule, but that's part of the job.

Despite the bumper-to-bumper traffic, the Santa Fe's hybrid system shone. It was quiet inside, thanks to the electric vehicle mode, and the heated seats and steering wheel kept me comfortable.

Picking up my passport was a quick errand, and the Santa Fe's spacious interior and comfy ride made it much more enjoyable. With my passport secured, I was off to meet Daddy Jacob for a filming session.

12:05 PM - Meeting Daddy Jacob

After grabbing my passport, it was time to meet up with Daddy Jacob.

He's a key part of CarSauce, and working with him is always a blast.

Today, we were filming an ad, but first, we took a break to enjoy some sausages. It was a fun moment, and we joked about our love for sausages (there's no way of saying this without sounding strange, we know.)

As part of today's tasks, I helped Jacob jumpstart his car using the Santa Fe.

The hybrid's impressive electrical power came in handy, showcasing its practicality beyond just fuel efficiency.

Little moments like these highlighted the versatility of the Santa Fe and the fun, unpredictable nature of our work.

01:15 PM - Filming and Shopping

With the car jumpstarted and sausages eaten, it was time to get down to business. We dressed up for the ad shoot, complete with scoundrel mustaches, and had a lot of laughs during the process.

Filming days can be busy and chaotic, but they're incredibly rewarding. Today's shoot involved me dressing as a mechanic, and we captured some great footage.

After the shoot, it was off to Chadstone Shopping Centre. Known for its vast array of stores, Chadstone had everything I needed.

I picked up some SD cards and a new jumper for my upcoming trips. Shopping isn't my favorite activity, but it's necessary. The Santa Fe made navigating the busy shopping center and carrying all my purchases easy.

3:07 PM - Planning and Editing

Back home, I met with my editor, Himanshu. Handing over editing duties from myself and Jacob to Himanshu was a big step, but it's been a great move. We planned out videos for the next few weeks to ensure content flowed smoothly while I'm traveling.

Himanshu's editing skills have brought a new level of creativity to our videos, and today, we discussed adding more dynamic elements like explosions to keep the content exciting.

Providing feedback and planning future content was essential to maintaining CarSauce's quality and consistency. With trips to China and Korea coming up, staying ahead of schedule was crucial.

04:19 PM - Final Thoughts on the Hyundai Santa Fe

As the day wound down, I reflected on my time with the Hyundai Santa Fe. Having driven over 3000 kilometers in this model since its launch, I was thoroughly impressed.

The Santa Fe's premium features, like Napa leather seats and advanced driver assistance systems, make it a top contender in the family SUV market. Despite its size, it's easy to park and navigate, making it perfect for both city and highway driving.

Running errands, filming, and handling daily tasks were all made easier with the Santa Fe. Its spacious interior, comfortable ride, and impressive fuel efficiency stood out. The hybrid system, combining a 1.6-liter turbo petrol engine with electric power, delivered both performance and economy. It was a perfect fit for my busy lifestyle.

Conclusion

Running a successful YouTube channel like CarSauce is a full-time job, requiring constant work from dawn until dusk. But for me, the opportunities and experiences make it all worthwhile. The Hyundai Santa Fe proved to be a reliable companion throughout the hectic day, blending comfort, efficiency, and practicality.

Thank you to Hyundai for sponsoring this video. The Santa Fe is truly an impressive vehicle that enhances the daily grind of a car YouTuber. And if you're interested in buying one and want the best price possible, check out carsauce.com/buy

Should Chinese Cars Be Banned in Australia?

Banning Chinese cars in Australia makes no sense. With no local car industry to protect, tariffs would only hurt consumers and limit choice.
