Ford Australia has officially opened order books for the MY26.5 Ranger Super Duty, confirming the addition of a factory-fitted Pick-Up body style and a premium XLT grade to the heavy-duty line-up.

Scheduled to arrive in Australian showrooms in mid-2026, the update expands the range beyond the initially announced cab-chassis models to appeal to lifestyle-oriented buyers as well as commercial operators.
The new Pick-Up variants retain the Super Duty’s core heavy-duty credentials, including a 4,500kg braked towing capacity, 4,500kg Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), and 8,000kg Gross Combined Mass (GCM).

Mechanically, the vehicle is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine producing 154kW at 3250rpm and 600Nm of torque at 1750rpm, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive.
The powertrain is a detuned version of the 3.0-litre V6 found in the standard Ranger, producing 154kW (down from 184kW) while maintaining 600Nm of torque and utilising AdBlue for Euro 6 emissions compliance.

This configuration is shared across the entire Super Duty range, which features a widened 1710mm track and 850mm wading depth tailored to Australian off-road conditions.
The introduction of the XLT series, available on Double Cab Cab-Chassis and Double Cab Pick-Up variants, targets customers seeking greater comfort for long-distance travel.

Differentiation for the XLT includes ‘Super Duty’ branded 18-inch alloy wheels and an upgraded interior featuring carpet flooring and leather-accented front seats that are both heated and ventilated.
Pricing for the new Double Cab Pick-Up starts at a Manufacturer List Price (MLP) of $93,990, placing it between the standard Double Cab Cab-Chassis and the new XLT variants.

For context within the broader market, this price point positions the Super Duty significantly below full-size American pickup trucks like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150, which typically start above $100,000.
While the Toyota LandCruiser 79 Series Double Cab GXL starts at a lower price point, it offers a lower braked towing capacity of 3,500kg compared to the Super Duty's 4,500kg, and comes with a more spartan interior.
The Ranger Super Duty Pick-Up effectively offers American-style towing figures in a mid-size package, without the six-figure entry price often associated with the segment.

The range-topping Double Cab Pick-Up XLT is priced at $99,990, while the Double Cab Cab-Chassis XLT lists at $95,990. Pricing for the existing Single Cab, Super Cab, and Double Cab Cab-Chassis models remains unchanged, starting from $82,990.
A new exterior colour, Traction Green, has been added as an optional Prestige Paint choice available across all variants for the MY26.5 model year.
To support the versatility of the new Pick-Up body style, Ford has introduced a suite of factory options including an 8.9-inch Digital Rear View Mirror and an Aeroklas twin in-bed drawer system, both of which require canopy fitment.

Buyers can also opt for various canopy configurations, including Commercial or Stylish versions with lift and slide or dual lift sides. Existing factory options such as the Dual Battery System and Rock Sliders remain available, though specific combinations vary by trim level.
Specific payload and dimension figures for the Pick-Up and XLT models will be confirmed closer to the vehicle's arrival.

FAQ
How much towing capacity does the Ranger Super Duty have?
The Ranger Super Duty offers a maximum braked towing capacity of 4,500kg, which is a 1,000kg increase over the standard Ford Ranger range. This is supported by a Gross Combined Mass (GCM) of 8,000kg and a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 4,500kg, allowing for heavier loads to be towed without exceeding weight limits.
What is the difference between the Pick-Up and Cab-Chassis models?
The Pick-Up variants come equipped with a factory-fitted tub, offering a "ready-to-drive" solution similar to a standard dual-cab ute. The Cab-Chassis variants consist of the cabin and chassis rails only, requiring buyers to fit an aftermarket or factory accessory tray at an additional cost.
Does the Ranger Super Duty use the same engine as the standard V6 Ranger?
While both vehicles use a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel, the Super Duty's engine is calibrated differently. It produces 154kW of power (compared to the standard Ranger's 184kW) while maintaining 600Nm of torque. The Super Duty engine also utilises AdBlue to meet heavy-duty Euro 6 emissions standards.
What features are included in the new XLT grade?
The XLT series is designed for touring comfort and adds premium features over the standard heavy-duty specification. These include 'Super Duty' branded 18-inch alloy wheels, carpet flooring, front all-weather floor mats, and leather-accented front seats that are both heated and ventilated.
When will the Ranger Super Duty be available in Australia?
The first deliveries of the MY26.5 Ranger Super Duty are expected to arrive in Australia in mid-2026. Order books are currently open, allowing customers to secure a vehicle ahead of the launch.
Do I need a truck license to drive the Ranger Super Duty?
No. With a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 4,500kg, the Ranger Super Duty sits right at the upper limit of the light vehicle category. This means it can be driven on a standard Australian car license, unlike vehicles with a GVM exceeding 4,500kg which require a light rigid truck license.
