Ford Australia has confirmed a drastic overhaul for the 2026 Ranger and Everest lineups, dropping the popular Bi-Turbo diesel engine and cutting key model grades.
In a massive shake-up of Australia’s best-selling vehicle family, Ford has officially announced the discontinuation of the 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo diesel engine for the MY26.5 Ranger and Everest.

The twin-turbo powertrain, which previously produced 154kW and 500Nm, is being replaced across the board by a revised version of the single-turbo 2.0-litre diesel engine.
While Ford states this single-turbo engine has been "optimised" with a new timing chain and updated fuel injection system, its output remains significantly lower than the outgoing engine.

The 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel produces 125kW of power and 405Nm of torque, representing a deficit of 29kW and 95Nm compared to the deleted Bi-Turbo option.
The 10-speed automatic transmission, previously exclusive to higher-spec models, is now standard on all variants, replacing the 6-speed automatic entirely.
Ranger Pricing: V6 Price Cuts and 2.0L Increases
Ford has adjusted pricing for the Ranger across the board, with some V6 models actually seeing a price reduction despite equipment upgrades.

The volume-selling Ranger XLT Double Cab Pick-Up with the V6 engine is now priced at $67,990, which is a $1,100 price cut compared to the outgoing MY25 model.
Similarly, the Ranger Wildtrak V6 ($75,090) and Ranger Platinum V6 ($80,890) hold their prices steady at MY25 levels, representing better value given the addition of standard Matrix LED headlights and B&O audio.

However, lower grades have seen slight increases; the Ranger XL 4X4 Double Cab Pick-Up with the 2.0L engine is now $51,400, an increase of $270 over the outgoing Bi-Turbo model, despite the drop in power.
The entry-level Ranger XL 4X2 Single Cab Chassis remains the cheapest point of entry at $37,130, unchanged from the post-July 2025 price rise.
Everest Pricing: Entry Price Soars
The Everest lineup sees steeper price increases, largely due to the removal of the cheaper entry-level grades.
The new entry-point, the Everest Active, is priced at $58,990 - a substantial $4,500 increase over the previous entry-level Ambiente 4X2 ($54,490), though it now comes as a 4X4 as standard.

Mid-to-high spec Everest models also see price hikes; the Everest Sport V6 is now $76,990, up $1,450 from the previous model.
The off-road focused Everest Tremor has climbed by $2,500 to a new Manufacturer List Price (MLP) of $79,990.
The flagship Everest Platinum sees a $1,100 increase, taking the price to $83,490.
Ranger Lineup Slashed
Ford has streamlined the Ranger variant list for MY26.5, removing some model grade overlaps to simplify the range.
The popular Ranger Sport variant has been completely discontinued from the lineup.
The Ranger XLS has been severely restricted and is now only available as a 4X4 Double Cab Chassis with the 3.0L V6 engine priced at $58,450, effectively removing it as a pick-up option for private buyers.

The Ranger Black Edition becomes a permanent fixture, available with the 2.0L engine for $53,490 or the V6 for $59,990.
A new limited-edition Ranger Wolftrak joins the lineup at $70,990, offered exclusively as a V6 Double Cab Pick-Up.
The Ranger Tremor returns priced at $75,090, now upgraded with the 3.0L V6 engine to answer customer demand for more power.

Visually, chrome accents have been largely removed across the XLT, Wildtrak, and Platinum trims, replaced by modern gloss and matte black finishes.
Everest Grades Cut
The Everest SUV lineup sees an even more aggressive consolidation.
Both the Ambiente (entry-level) and Trend (mid-spec) nameplates have been axed from the range entirely.
They are replaced by a single new entry model called the Everest Active.
The Active is available with the 2.0L engine for $58,990 or the 3.0L V6 for $66,990.
This simplifies the lineup to just four distinct grades: Active, Sport, Tremor, and Platinum.
