XPENG Australia Takes Over TrueEV Customer Support, Promises to Honour Deals
XPENG ANZ says it will directly support TrueEV customers, reviewing cashback, warranty, servicing and other purchase commitments.
XPENG Motors Australia says it will directly support customers who bought vehicles through TrueEV, including reviewing eligible cashback, warranty, servicing and other promotional commitments made at the point of sale.
The factory-backed Australian subsidiary has now become the sole operator of the XPENG brand locally, following the formal end of its distributor arrangement with TrueEV on 24 August 2026.
The move is intended to address uncertainty for existing owners after months of disruption around the brand's original Australian distribution arrangements and a legal dispute involving TrueEV.
XPENG ANZ says customers who received documented commitments from TrueEV can contact it directly for review.
Those commitments may include $5000 cashback campaign offers, 10-year warranty campaign offers, complimentary scheduled maintenance campaign offers and other miscellaneous promotional offers.
Customers are being asked to email auscustomercare@xiaopeng.com with their name, vehicle details, VIN if available, proof of purchase and documentation of the commitment.
XPENG ANZ says it will acknowledge claims and, once a commitment is confirmed, arrange the relevant cashback payment, warranty activation, service booking or other agreed outcome directly.
"All XPENG customers deserve certainty about who is looking after them," said Shaun Anthony, National After Sales Manager, XPENG ANZ.
"Every XPENG vehicle in Australia and New Zealand is backed by the factory, and every customer who purchased through TrueEV can now deal with XPENG ANZ directly.
"If a commitment was made to a customer at the point of sale, send us the details and we'll work with customers to reach the appropriate outcome."
Warranty and servicing position
XPENG ANZ says its manufacturer-backed seven-year warranty program, announced in June 2026 for eligible vehicles sold from 1 June 2026, will also be extended to eligible vehicles purchased through TrueEV or its authorised dealers.
That coverage is subject to XPENG ANZ's warranty terms and documentation.
For private owners, the program includes a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty.
For commercial use, it covers seven years or 160,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.
The traction battery, Battery Management System, drive motor and Intelligent Power Unit are covered for eight years or 160,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.
XPENG ANZ also lists a five-year, unlimited-kilometre paint warranty and a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre anti-corrosion and anti-rust warranty, with limited-warranty items applying under the brand's global warranty policy.
Separately purchased extended warranty products offered by third-party providers, retailers or other entities remain subject to the terms of those separate agreements.

The company says it has expanded its Australian-based customer support team to handle enquiries.
Its factory-backed dealer and service network now covers Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.
The customer-care move follows XPENG ANZ's June 2026 memorandum of understanding with the Australian Automotive Service and Repair Authority, which formalised its participation in the Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Information Sharing Scheme.
CarSauce previously covered XPENG ANZ's move to join Australia's right-to-repair scheme, which is designed to give independent repairers access to service and repair information.
XPENG ANZ says technical onboarding for that scheme is in progress and is expected to be completed over the coming months.
The brand's local range has also continued to expand, with the XPENG X9 electric people mover joining the G6 SUV in Australian showrooms.
For existing customers, the immediate issue is less about new models and more about whether previous purchase commitments will be recognised.
XPENG ANZ is now directing affected owners to submit documentation so each case can be assessed under its direct Australian operations.
