2026 Genesis GV60 Magma Lands In Australia With 478kW For $130,000

Genesis Motors Australia has launched the GV60 Magma in Australia, priced from $130,000 before delivery and on-road costs.

The 2026 Genesis GV60 Magma is the brand’s first high-performance production model and sits as the flagship of the all-electric GV60 SUV range.

It arrives in a single AWD specification with an 84kWh battery, dual electric motors, performance-specific chassis tuning and Magma-exclusive software features.

The local price follows the performance EV’s international debut, while the broader GV60 range was recently detailed for Australia in refreshed form as part of the GV60 line-up.

Standard outputs are 448kW and 740Nm, rising to 478kW and 790Nm for around 15 seconds when Boost Mode is activated.

Genesis claims the GV60 Magma can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds using Launch Control, reach 0-200km/h in 10.9 seconds and continue to a top speed of 264km/h.

The Magma also adds Virtual Gear Shift, Drift Mode, High-Performance Battery Control, e-Active Sound Design and dedicated Sprint, GT and MY drive modes.

MY Mode allows drivers to adjust performance parameters including the electronic limited-slip differential and electronic stability control.

“GV60 Magma marks a milestone for Genesis as our first high-performance production model and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the brand, with electrification as a key enabler,” Head of Genesis Motors Australia Justin Douglass said.

“GV60 Magma establishes the foundation for our future Magma portfolio, providing the blueprint for blending dynamic performance with the luxury, refinement and technology that set Genesis vehicles apart,” he said.

Compared with regular GV60 variants, the Magma gains a lower and wider stance, a three-hole front bumper, front canard wings, side skirts, a winglet-style rear spoiler and a rear diffuser.

It rides on 21-inch forged alloy wheels finished in graphite grey matte, wrapped in 275mm Pirelli P Zero tyres.

Exterior colours comprise Magma Orange, Uyuni White, Saville Silver, Makalu Grey, Vik Black, Tromso Green and Ceres Blue.

Matte finishes are available in Matterhorn White, Makalu Grey and Ceres Blue for an additional $4000.

Inside, the GV60 Magma uses Obsidian Black Mono upholstery with a choice of Magma Orange or Ash White stitching, along with suede-like Chamude trim across the seats, door trims and centre console.

A Magma-specific steering wheel adds orange drive mode and boost buttons, while the cabin also includes black brushed aluminium trim garnishes.

The performance EV uses Stroke-Sensing Type Electronic Control Suspension, End-of-Travel control, recalibrated roll centres and revised suspension geometry.

Genesis has also fitted Hydro G-Bushings at the front and dual-layer bushings in the rear crossmember to reduce impact and vibration transfer.

Braking hardware includes 400mm front discs, 360mm rear discs and monoblock calipers, with Genesis claiming a 100-0km/h stopping distance of 33.8 metres.

Sport brake mode removes the initial free stroke area and increases hydraulic control, while high-speed braking force is increased by approximately 15 per cent in Sport Mode.

Other standard equipment includes a 27-inch OLED integrated display, head-up display, Digital Key 2.0, over-the-air software update capability, Vehicle-to-Load functionality, a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Ownership coverage includes a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty for private vehicles, five years or 75,000km of complimentary scheduled servicing, five years of roadside assistance, and up to 10 years of roadside assistance if servicing is completed through Genesis.
