Genesis Magma Racing Reveals GMR-001 Hypercar Livery for Le Mans Debut
Genesis Magma Racing has revealed the red-to-orange livery for its two GMR-001 Hypercars ahead of its first 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Genesis Magma Racing has revealed the livery its two GMR-001 Hypercars will carry for the team’s first 24 Hours of Le Mans appearance.
The design uses a gradient that shifts from Magma Orange at the front to deep red at the rear, linking the racing program with Genesis’ broader Magma performance identity.
It also brings the team closer to the Magma-inspired concept look shown at the Genesis area of the Manufacturer Village during the 2025 Le Mans event.
Genesis says the colours reference the volcanic origins of the Korean peninsula and the energy it associates with South Korean culture.
The livery also retains hangeul lettering for “Magma” (마그마) along the length of the car, with the lettering using a contrasting gradient from red at the front to Magma Orange at the rear.
The #17 and #19 entries will both run the same basic design at Le Mans, but there will be visual differences between the two cars.
The #19 car will feature white Genesis and Genesis Magma Racing logos and additional white highlights, while the #17 will use orange and black detailing.
“For the entire Genesis brand, including of course Genesis Magma Racing, design is one of the foundational pillars,” said Luc Donckerwolke, Genesis Chief Creative Officer.
“Fans and supporters have been vocal in their love of the Magma Orange concept livery that was unveiled last year, and, as always, Genesis takes our supporters’ feedback into consideration by bringing it to reality with a bold evolution.
More than a race livery, it’s an artful statement - where colour and form convey the unique performance identity of Genesis.”
The Le Mans reveal comes during Genesis Magma Racing’s first season in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The team scored points in its second WEC race at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, but says its focus for Le Mans remains reliability and reaching the finish in its first 24-hour race.
“The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the biggest weekend of our year,” said Cyril Abiteboul, Genesis Magma Racing Team Principal.
“It is the toughest test we face during the FIA WEC season, especially as a team in our first season, but it is also our biggest opportunity to show the identity of Genesis and Genesis Magma Racing to the world through racing.”
Abiteboul added: “Since we launched the team in December 2024, Magma has been a key part of our name and our identity, so to be able to bring Genesis Magma fully to life on track is very important.
The cars look fantastic, and as a team we will be working to make sure our performance matches the level of attention that has gone into creating the designs.”
Genesis has also been building the Magma name beyond motorsport, including the GV60 Magma, which is set to become the brand’s first high-performance production model.
For the Le Mans cars, Genesis Magma Racing has worked with Technical Partner HEXIS on the wrap materials used for the GMR-001 Hypercar.
The team says HEXIS wrapping films were selected to support the colour gradient and withstand endurance racing conditions including high-speed airflow, heat and track debris.
HEXIS BODYFENCE paint protection film will also be used to help protect the finish without compromising the team’s weight requirements for the livery.
“As we do for every production car, we will keep innovating and testing new solutions to always be recognised and unique,” said Donckerwolke.
“Genesis global design has worked hand in hand with the racing team to create a striking yet lightweight livery for the biggest race of the 2026 WEC season, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.”
The two GMR-001 Hypercars will make their Le Mans debut with the new livery as Genesis Magma Racing continues its first WEC campaign.
