MG Motor Australia has introduced a new pricing strategy, offering drive-away pricing across its entire electric vehicle (EV) range starting March 22, 2024.

This change is part of MG's approach to pricing in the Australian market, aimed at addressing the cost barriers associated with electric vehicle ownership.

Peter Ciao, CEO of MG Motor Australia, stated the decision reflects the company's efforts to align with the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard, emphasizing a strategy to make EVs more financially accessible to consumers.

The drive-away pricing will be applied to the MG4 range, including the XPOWER, and the ZS EV, as an initiative to broaden the access to zero-emission vehicles.

The MG4 Electric, which has received recognition in the form of global awards for its design and safety, is part of this pricing strategy.

Ciao mentioned the importance of challenging the misconceptions about EV ownership in Australia, noting the environmental and economic benefits of electric vehicles, especially given Australia's high solar energy potential and the current electricity costs.

He also highlighted the practicality of EVs for the average Australian household, given the country's driving patterns and the availability of government incentives for EV ownership in some states.

Furthermore, MG's move includes a capped-price service program aimed at providing transparency and predictability in maintenance costs for EV owners.

The new drive-away pricing for MG's EV range is detailed as follows, including several models of the MG4 and ZS EV, with starting prices at $39,990 (AUD) for the MG4 51kWh Excite MY23 and the ZS EV Excite.
