MG Cyberster Set to Launch in Australia, Pre-Orders Begin

MG Motor Australia has announced the upcoming release of the MG Cyberster, Australia's first all-electric roadster, expected in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The vehicle, designed at MG's London studio, is distinguished by its scissor doors, a design feature created by the MG London design team.

Brad Chruszcz, MG Motor Australia's National Sales Manager, stated that the company is beginning to accept dealer orders and will soon open registrations for public interest.

The anticipated price range for the vehicle is between $100,000 and $150,000, with final pricing details to be established closer to the launch date.

The electric roadster will be equipped with a 77 kWh all-wheel-drive system, capable of achieving 0-100 km/h in approximately 3.2 seconds and offering a driving range of 444 km according to WLTP standards.

It will also feature an electric fabric hood, available in deep red or black, that can be operated in as little as 15 seconds.

MG's latest model is positioned at a higher price point compared to its previous vehicles, making it one of the most expensive offerings by MG to date.

The Cyberster is expected to compete in the sports car market alongside models such as the Ford Mustang Dark Horse and BMW M2.

It represents MG's first sports car offering in two decades and will be available in limited quantities due to anticipated high demand.

The company has confirmed that the Cyberster will come in several colour options for both the interior and exterior, with some colour combinations being exclusive to specific trims.

Should Chinese Cars Be Banned in Australia?

Banning Chinese cars in Australia makes no sense. With no local car industry to protect, tariffs would only hurt consumers and limit choice.
