The 2026 Polestar 2 arrives in Australia with a host of updates for the new model year, but its starting price remains unchanged at $62,400 before on-road costs.

Save for Long Range Dual Motor variants equipped with the Performance pack, the Polestar 2’s pricing across the range has been retained, with the aforementioned variant seeing a price increase of $4,700 due to being exclusively offered with the Plus pack included.

Headlining the 2026 upgrades for the Polestar 2 is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon processor chip, improving infotainment system performance.

A new Dune colour choice is now also available for the range – replacing the Jupiter colour option – and tinting has been applied to the rear windows and tailgate.

The Standard Range Single Motor variant has seen an 8km WLTP range improvement to 554km on account of its new 70kWh battery, upped from 69kWh.

Changing times have also improved for the standard Polestar 2 – with 180kW DC charging compared to 135kW – now capable of charging from 10 to 80 per cent in 26 minutes.

The equipment lists of the Plus, Pro and Performance packs have also seen changes.

The 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system that was removed from the Plus Pack from the previous model year has returned.

The Plus pack can now also be equipped with a new quilted charcoal upholstery and black ash deco interior trim, and a 14-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system as $4,400 and $3,500 options respectively.

The Performance pack is now also available with a new 20-inch forged alloy wheel design, while Polestar 2s equipped with the Pro pack will now exclusively ride on 20-inch alloy wheels with a graphite finish.

Aside from the battery change to the entry-level Polestar 2, the key specs remain largely unchanged.

The Single Motor Polestar 2 produces 200kW and 490Nm, with a 0-100km/h time of 6.4 seconds.

The Long Range Single Motor has identical torque figures, but ups power to 220kW – achieving 0-100km/h in 6.2 seconds – and gains an 82kWh battery. It has the furthest WLTP driving range of any Polestar 2 variant at 646km.

The Long Range Dual Motor has a combined system output of 310kW and 740Nm, clocks a 0-100km/h time of 4.5 seconds, and has a WLTP range of 596km.

Finally, the Long Range Dual Motor with the Performance pack – with 350kW and 740Nm – achieves a 0-100km/h time of 4.2 seconds and has a WLTP driving range 568km.
