Pricing has been revealed for the 2026 MG HS Super Hybrid, with two variants offered for the plug-in hybrid SUV.
MG will kick off the line-up with the HS Super Hybrid Excite, priced from $52,990 drive-away, with the range-topping HS Super Hybrid Essence available from $55,990 drive-away.
While exact features and specifications between the two grades will be announced closer to their launch in September 2025, it’s believed they will more or less mirror the turbo-petrol MG HS line-up.

The HS Super Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, mated to a plug-in hybrid system offering a combined 220kW and 350Nm.
MG claims the HS Super Hybrid has a driving range of 120 kilometres (based on the more stringent WLTP standard), thanks to a 24.7kWh battery pack.
With the battery charged and its 55-litre fuel tank brimmed, the HS Super Hybrid should offer more than 1000 kilometres of combined range.

MG says the vehicle has already been tested on a drive from Sydney to Melbourne, arriving at its destination with more than 100 kilometres of range to spare.
Even when the battery is depleted and the car cannot be driven on electric power alone, the MG is still able to utilise its hybrid system, achieving a claimed fuel consumption range of less than 5.0 litres per 100 kilometres.
According to MG Motor Australia CEO Peter Ciao, the idea of a long-range plug-in hybrid was something he’s pushed for to suit Australian buyers.

“I’m incredibly proud to introduce MG Super Hybrid to Australia,” he said in a written statement.
“Since I came up with this idea, our engineering team has worked tirelessly to deliver this leading product. It is designed for Australian motorists, with the conditions we drive in Australia in mind.”
The 2026 MG HS Super Hybrid will launch in Australia in September 2025, priced from $52,990 drive-away.
