Jaecoo Australia has announced an extension of the J5 EV promotional launch offer to an additional 1,000 customers.

The decision follows high demand after the model's initial reveal during a national brand livestream.

The extension brings the total number of vehicles available under the promotional terms to 2,000 units.

The launch offer maintains a drive-away price of $36,990 and includes complimentary premium paint.

“We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback from dealers and the general public,” said Chief Commercial Officer Roy Munoz.

“The order books have been quickly filled since they opened in late December, so we were more than happy to extend the offer to allow more people to get behind the wheel of our latest new energy vehicle.”

The promotional pricing positions the J5 EV as one of the more accessible electric SUVs in the Australian market.

A new black interior option has also been introduced for the first 2,000 customers.

The cabin features a pet-friendly synthetic leather made from a specialized silicone-based material.

This material is designed to be antibacterial and wear-resistant to withstand heavy usage.

The J5 EV provides a driving range of 402km on a single charge. The battery can be replenished from 30% to 80% in 28 minutes when using a DC fast charger.

The vehicle serves as the entry-level model for the brand, sitting below the J7 and J8 SUVs.

Jaecoo plans to expand the J5 lineup later this year with the introduction of petrol and hybrid variants.

The electric version is currently available for test drives at Omoda Jaecoo dealerships nationwide.
