Chery Group’s Lepas brand has confirmed its first all-electric model for Australia, with the Lepas L6 mid-size SUV due to launch locally in quarter four of 2026.

The L6 will give the group another SUV entrant in Australia’s increasingly crowded electric vehicle market, with an estimated driving range of 450km and outputs of up to 160kW and 275Nm.

Lepas is another brand name for Australian buyers to track from the broader Chery Group presence, alongside Chery, Omoda and Jaecoo, with iCAUR and Freelander also expected and Jetour due through a separate Australian operation.

The L6 will arrive as electric-vehicle sales in Australia continue to grow, with EVs reaching a record 20 per cent share in May 2026.

The L6 is being positioned as a design-led mid-size electric SUV with a minimalist interior layout, a panoramic glass roof and a cabin focused on passenger space.

Lepas has highlighted slim LED lighting, a broad stance and everyday usability as key parts of the L6 package, though final Australian specifications are still to be confirmed.
