Cadillac has officially expanded its Australian and New Zealand footprint with the introduction of the OPTIQ, a new entry point into its all-electric luxury SUV stable.
The compact SUV joins the established LYRIQ and the newly announced three-row VISTIQ to complete a three-tiered electric portfolio for the region.
Priced from $80,000 AUD before on-road costs, the OPTIQ serves as a competitor to the likes of the Tesla Model Y Performance and the Zeekr 7X.
The arrival marks a strategic move to offer a more accessible gateway to the luxury division of American car manufacturer, General Motors.
Sales are expected to commence shortly through Cadillac Experience Centres in Sydney and Auckland.

The OPTIQ is distinguished by an athletic silhouette and a "Black Crystal" grille featuring laser-etched sport designs.
Standard exterior highlights include 21-inch "Dark Android" painted alloy wheels wrapped in 275/40R21 self-sealing tyres.
The vehicle features a distinctive exterior lighting choreography, with animated LED sequences that run from the headlamps to the rear tail lamps upon approach or departure.
A panoramic glass roof with a power sunshade is standard, intended to create a seamless transition from glass to sheet metal.
The exterior dimensions measure 4,820mm in length with a 2,954mm wheelbase, placing it on the upper end of the mid-sized SUV segment, with 153mm of ground clearance contributing to what Cadillac describes as a planted stance.

Drivers can choose between four selectable drive modes: Tour, Snow/Ice, Sport, and MyMode.
Regenerative braking with One-Pedal Driving and "Regen on Demand" is also included to enhance efficiency and driver control.

The chassis features a front coil-over strut suspension paired with a 5-link rear suspension setup and "premium" dampers.
Brembo performance front brakes are standard, supporting the vehicle’s stopping power and energy recovery capabilities.
AC charging speed is 22kW, and while the manufacturer doesn't provide exact peak DC fast charging speed, the OPTIQ can add up to a claimed 94km of range in approximately 10 minutes.

The interior of the OPTIQ features a 33-inch diagonal advanced LED display that sweeps across the dashboard in 9K resolution.
The cabin is appointed with "Inteluxe" seats featuring perforated inserts and quilting, available in several colourways including Sky Cool Grey and Santorini Blue.
Sustainable materials are used throughout, including patterned accent fabric woven from recycled yarn.
A 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system with Dolby Atmos capability is included as standard, alongside 126-colour dual-zone ambient lighting.
The cabin provides up to 1,058mm of front legroom and a cargo capacity of up to 1,603L with the rear seats folded.

Standard safety equipment includes Blind Zone Steering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
