The new-generation Renault Duster has arrived in Australia, with local showroom deliveries expected to commence by the end of July 2025.
The Duster is a subcompact SUV originally developed by Dacia, Renault’s Romanian subsidiary, and is now in its third generation.
While branded as a Dacia Duster in Europe, it is marketed under the Renault name in regions including Australia, Latin America, and parts of Asia.

As previously reported by CarSauce in February, the Duster will also form the basis of a new Nissan Terrano in select markets, with reports suggesting it will offer additional features at a higher price.
While both brands are part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, recent developments — including Nissan’s plan to sell down part of its Renault stake amid financial pressure — may impact how future joint products are brought to market.

Two drivetrain options will be offered locally: a 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine (113kW/250Nm) paired with an automatic transmission for the front-wheel-drive (4X2) model, and a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol mild-hybrid (96kW/230Nm) with a manual transmission for the all-wheel-drive (4X4) version.
Renault Australia has confirmed the line-up will include two model grades and a choice of seven exterior colours.

Full pricing and specifications are yet to be announced but expressions of interest are now open at dealerships.
Due to strong European demand, Australia will receive limited initial stock before wider availability ramps up in 2026.
Renault Australia says it is working closely with the factory to secure increased future supply.

The Duster measures 4345mm in length with a wheelbase of 2657mm and offers up to 212mm of ground clearance.
Width is 1813mm (2069mm with mirrors extended), height is 1650mm with roof bars, and the turning circle is listed at 10.86 metres.

Notable features include Y-shaped LED daytime running lights, a 7-inch digital instrument display, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety technology includes autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, driver attention alert, traffic sign recognition, and available multi-view or rear-view cameras.

The 4X4 variant adds a “Drive Mode” selector with five driving modes and hill descent control to support off-road performance. A wide range of accessories developed in collaboration with Renault France and local suppliers will also be available.
