The 2025 Chery C5 is the new name for the Omoda 5, with the Chinese brand simplifying its line-up for buyers – and lowering prices.

Chery has also slimmed down the line-up for the C5 and introduced new variant names, with the Urban now the entry-level grade – replacing the Omoda 5 FX – priced from $29,990 drive-away.

The range-topping C5 Ultimate takes over from the Omoda 5 EX, with pricing from $34,990 drive-away.

Chery has scrapped different drive-away pricing for each state and territory, instead offering one nationwide price for each variant.

It’s understood the sporty Omoda 5 GT was axed from the range in late 2024, while the electric Omoda E5 will simply be known as the E5.

Both the C5 Urban and Ultimate are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine making 108kW and 210Nm, driving the front wheels through a CVT automatic, and offering claimed fuel consumption of 6.9 litres per 100 kilometres combined.

The C5 Urban comes with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.25-inch infotainment screen, six speaker sound system, voice command, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, seven airbags, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Step up to the C5 Ultimate, and buyers get 360-degree cameras, an eight-speaker Sony sound system, wireless smartphone charger, dual-zone climate control, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, power sunroof with sunshade, a powered tailgate, and 18-inch alloy wheels over red brake calipers.

The Chery C5 comes with a five-star ANCAP safety rating and Chery’s seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
