The 2024 GWM Haval Jolion lineup features a redesigned hybrid model alongside mild updates to the non-hybrid variant.

Notably, the prices for these models have been adjusted downwards.

The hybrid Jolion has undergone a substantial redesign, introducing new body panels that distinctively alter its appearance compared to the previous model.

The non-hybrid version receives smaller cosmetic changes, maintaining a consistent design language with subtle updates.

Despite the introduction of significant design changes, GWM has reduced prices across the Jolion range by up to $2,000, a move that contrasts with previous price increases during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In terms of specifications, the hybrid and non-hybrid models maintain the same wheelbase and underpinnings.

The hybrid variant is slightly wider and taller than its predecessor but comes with a reduced boot size.

Both versions of the hybrid Jolion are powered by a combined system of a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor, delivering a total of 140kW and 375Nm.

This powertrain is linked to a dedicated hybrid transmission and achieves a fuel consumption rate of 5.1 litres per 100 kilometres.

Internationally, the hybrid model is known under different names: the Chitu or "Red Rabbit" in China and the Jolion Pro in South Africa.

In Australia and New Zealand, the model will be marketed as the GWM Jolion Hybrid to streamline branding and marketing efforts.

Updates to the non-hybrid model include a new black grille and revised front and rear bumpers enhanced with black trim.

Both the hybrid and non-hybrid versions prominently feature 'GWM' badges on the tailgate, replacing the previous 'HAVAL' script.

The revised pricing strategy positions the non-hybrid models as more budget-friendly options within the lineup.

Detailed pricing for the Jolion in Australia is as follows:

  • Jolion Premium non-hybrid: $26,990 (decreased by $1,500)
  • Jolion Lux non-hybrid: $29,990 (decreased by $1,000)
  • Jolion Premium Hybrid: $32,990
  • Jolion Lux Hybrid: $35,990 (decreased by $1,000)
  • Jolion Ultra Hybrid: $38,990 (decreased by $2,000)

All prices are listed as drive-away.
