The Denza D9 all-electric luxury people mover has officially joined the brand's Australian vehicle lineup, following the recent introduction of the B5 and B8 Super Hybrid off-roaders.

Built upon BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the vehicle features a mass-produced 8-in-1 powertrain system and a 103.3 kWh Blade Battery designed for safety and longevity.

The range is offered in two configurations, with the front-wheel drive model starting at $85,990 and the all-wheel drive variant priced from $95,990, excluding on-road costs.

These models provide a WLTP-rated driving range of 520km and 480km respectively, supported by 200 kW DC fast charging and Vehicle-to-Load functionality.

The exterior dimensions include a 5250mm length and a 3110mm wheelbase, featuring a front grille design inspired by the mathematical pi symbol and rear lights with a star-streak effect.

Inside, the 2+2+3 seating layout is upholstered in Nappa leather and incorporates natural materials like open-pore white ash wood.

Second-row occupants are provided with captain’s chairs that include ventilation, massage functions, power leg rests, and individual 5.5-inch armrest displays for climate and entertainment control.

To maintain cabin serenity, the vehicle utilises double-layer acoustic glass and extensive insulation, resulting in a recorded noise level of 64.8 dB at 120km/h.

Technological integration is managed through a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12-inch head-up display.

Comfort features include a 14-speaker Dynaudio system and a dual-mode fridge and hotbox capable of chilling items to –6 degrees celsius or warming them to 50 degrees celsius.

Practicality is maintained with 410 litres of cargo space when all seven seats are in use, which expands to 2310 litres when the rear rows are folded.

Access is provided via dual electric sliding doors with soft-close functionality and anti-pinch protection, complemented by a 1.1 square-metre panoramic roof.

Safety is supported by a Cell-to-Body structure that integrates the battery into the vehicle frame to enhance torsional rigidity and lower the centre of gravity.

The body construction consists of 75 per cent high-strength steel and includes eight airbags, featuring a notably long side curtain airbag for occupant protection.

A comprehensive suite of active safety technologies is standard, including automatic emergency braking, emergency lane keeping, and rear cross-traffic braking.

The all-wheel drive grade further includes the DiSus-C suspension system, which utilises electronically-controlled dampers to monitor and adjust ride quality in real time.
