A Thai outlet has broken Toyota’s global embargo, publishing a detailed walkaround video (that has since been taken down) that reveals the all-new 2026 Toyota HiLux — including full exterior and interior design details — ahead of its official unveiling.

The footage, posted by Auto Societies, shows what it calls the Hilux Travo-e, confirming the arrival of Toyota’s first-ever electric HiLux and an evolutionary update to one of Australia’s most popular utes.
The leak shows that the upcoming HiLux remains heavily based on the outgoing model, with the entire mid-section and tray appearing largely unchanged apart from a new side step.

Up front, the HiLux gains a more squared-off fascia with revised bumpers and grilles, while the rear features subtle styling updates.
GR-branded accessories and body parts are also visible throughout the video, suggesting Toyota’s performance division will again supply factory-approved upgrades.

Several diesel-powered grades were also shown, featuring what appear to be the same 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engines used in the current HiLux — producing 150kW and 500 Nm — paired with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Several models shown in the video feature different suspension setups, including examples with lowered and lifted rides, likely depending on trim or accessory packages.
Among the vehicles shown were the HiLux Travo 4TREX and HiLux Travo Overland Plus variants — both four-wheel-drive models equipped with GR-Plus accessories, including unique bumpers, grilles, and alloy wheels — suggesting they sit toward the upper end of the range.

The key highlight is the battery-electric “Travo-e”, Toyota’s first fully electric HiLux. The presenter cites a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 169 horsepower (124 kW) and powered by a 59.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a claimed 315 km of range.

The Travo-e also features a newly introduced underbody protection system and what’s described as "Dynamic Cloud" technology, aimed at improving ride comfort, handling, and stability.

Inside, the leaked footage reveals a modernised cabin with a 12.3-inch digital driver display and 12.3-inch touchscreen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other updates include an electronic parking brake, wireless phone charging, and the latest Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver-assistance systems.

While the Travo-e brings electrification to the HiLux for the first time, the video makes clear that the new model is more evolution than revolution.
Despite a redesigned front and added tech, much of the structure — particularly the mid-section and tray — appears to carry over from the current HiLux generation.

The Auto Societies video has since circulated widely online, with commenters noting the early publication and joking that the outlet had “gone faster than Toyota HQ.”
Toyota has yet to comment on the apparent embargo breach.
