Mitsubishi Motors has announced that it will reveal the fully redesigned Triton pickup truck at a world premiere event in Thailand on July 26, 2023. The Triton mid-sized ute is a global strategic model for the company.

The upcoming Triton marks the sixth generation of Mitsubishi Motors' midsize pickup truck, which will feature a more robust body and powerful, horizontally-themed styling. The new design prominently showcases a combination of daytime running lights and three-dimensional headlights at the front, a layout that Mitsubishi describes as "resembling the sharp gaze of a hawk". This design emphasizes the vehicle's robust presence and is expected to resonate well with its target market.

Discussing the new Triton, Seiji Watanabe, Division General Manager of Design at Mitsubishi Motors, highlighted its reimagination under the design concept 'Beast Mode', which is described as audacious and daring. He noted that while the all-new Triton continues to embody the toughness and power associated with a pickup truck, it also combines agility with the brand's sturdy design, resulting in an imposing look.

In the Australian market, Mitsubishi Motors is optimistic about the Triton's potential. A spokesperson said, “Australia is a core market globally for Mitsubishi Motors, and we have been a key stakeholder in the next-generation Triton’s development process. The Light Commercial utility segment is more competitive than ever, and we are confident that the next-generation Triton will take Mitsubishi’s enduring presence in this market to the next level."

The spokesperson added, “We look forward to sharing more details of the development process, and of the new Triton’s Australian range, specification, timings and pricing as we move towards delivering this next-generation utility vehicle to Australian customers.”

The updated Triton aims to inspire customers to undertake any adventure. However, more details about the redesigned pickup will only be revealed during its full unveiling in July.

It's important to note that while the vehicle is known as Triton in many markets, it is sold as L200 in some others. With the reveal date drawing near, pickup enthusiasts worldwide will be keenly waiting for more details about the revamped model.
