The MG ZS EV has become Australia's most affordable electric vehicle again with a new price of $34,990 drive-away. This marks a significant reduction of up to $8703 from its previous price, available only for August 2024.

MG's latest price cut continues the trend of competitive pricing in the EV market. Over the past two years, the title of the cheapest electric car has switched between various brands, including MG, BYD, and GWM.

Previously, the entry-level MG ZS EV was priced between $41,195 and $43,693 drive-away, depending on the state or territory. The new pricing strategy offers a uniform nationwide drive-away price, providing substantial savings.

The more equipped ZS EV models, such as the Essence and Long Range, have also seen price reductions. These models are now priced at $41,990 and $46,990 before on-road costs, respectively.

The MG 4 has similarly experienced price cuts across its range. The RRPs have dropped by $2000 to $4000, depending on the model, but the updated drive-away prices are yet to be confirmed.

MG's aggressive pricing aligns with its strategy to enhance its market presence ahead of the launch of a new ZS EV model expected next year or in 2026. The MG ZS EV is powered by a 51.1kWh lithium-ion battery, providing up to 320km of range.

Customers who purchase the ZS EV this month will also benefit from MG's new 10-year, 250,000km warranty. This warranty offers comprehensive coverage without the servicing conditions imposed by other manufacturers like Mitsubishi.
