Recently leaked images of the 2025 BMW X3 have appeared online, revealing the design of the upcoming mid-size SUV before its expected announcement later this month.
The images showcase the vehicle without any camouflage, indicating an imminent unveiling.
The vehicle shown is a plug-in hybrid, identifiable by the 'E' on its German license plates, featuring a unique grille with vertical and diagonal lines that may be specific to this variant.
The new X3 also includes dual L-shaped daytime running lights and flush door handles, aligning with BMW’s current design updates.
BMW plans to officially reveal the new X3 within the month, with production expected to start in August 2024 and deliveries likely beginning by year's end in Australia.
The SUV will continue to utilise the 'CLAR' platform but will introduce new exterior and interior designs, along with an updated range of engines.
The interior of the X3 is set to include a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen housed within a single panel.
The design updates extend to a new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls and a redesigned centre console that incorporates a compact gear selector and integrates air conditioning controls into the infotainment system.
At launch, the European market will receive several engine configurations for the new X3, including petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid options, all with all-wheel drive.
The U.S. will have options including a new M50 model and a mid-grade petrol version.
The previously named M40i will be renamed M50, and BMW will limit the 'i' suffix to its electric models in future lineups.
An electric variant, the iX3, is planned, based on BMW's upcoming 'Neue Klasse' electric platform and drawing design cues from the Neue Klasse X concept.
