JAC Motors has expanded into the Australian market with the introduction of the JAC T9 Ute, marking the company's first offering to local consumers.

With a global footprint in 132 countries and regions and sales exceeding 592,000 vehicles, JAC Motors reports an 18.4% growth rate.

Michael Jiang, Chairman of JAC Motors Australia, noted the Australian market's preference for vehicles that combine practicality with style, positioning the JAC T9 Ute as a vehicle aimed at fulfilling these needs with its turbo diesel engine.

The T9 Ute is designed to balance aesthetics and functionality, featuring 18-inch alloy wheels, a 1000kg payload capacity, and a cargo area sized to fit a standard pallet.

The interior includes quilted leather seats, a 10.4-inch touchscreen, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Powered by a two-litre, four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, the T9 Ute produces 125kW of power and 410Nm of torque, achieving a fuel efficiency of 7.6L/100km and a 3.5-tonne towing capacity.

It also incorporates several safety features, such as lane departure warnings and blind-spot detection.

Distribution in Australia is managed by LTS Auto, a new importer and distributor, which has established a network of over 40 dealerships nationwide.

The T9 Ute will be available from April 2024, with LTS Auto overseeing its rollout.

Danny Lenartic, Deputy Managing Director of JAC Motors Australia, spoke on the vehicle's adaptability to Australian conditions and its competitive pricing, with the Haven model priced at $45,630 and the Oasis model at $42,662.

Both models include a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
