Genesis has revealed the GV60 Magma and Magma GT Concept at Circuit Paul Ricard in France, marking the start of its “Luxury High Performance” direction for the next decade.

The debut follows the completion of the GV60 Magma’s global testing program, which CarSauce previously covered here.
The GV60 Magma becomes Genesis’ first high-performance production model and the first to formally launch under the Magma program.
It appeared alongside the Magma GT Concept, a vehicle intended to shape the brand’s long-term performance identity.

Genesis said its future direction blends the essence of luxury with calibrated performance characteristics.
The company stated this approach focuses on balance, stability and refined experiences rather than headline performance figures.
“Genesis achieved one million global sales faster than any luxury marque in history," said Hyundai Motor Company and Genesis President and CEO José Muñoz.
"Magma represents our declaration that the next ten years will be even more significant. We're not just building high-performance vehicles; we're redefining what a luxury high performance brand can be when Korean innovation meets global ambition.”
Genesis describes this new performance philosophy as an evolution of its “Athletic Elegance” design framework.
The brand said the intention is to create vehicles that deliver precise responses and a strong sense of driver connection.

The GV60 Magma sits lower and wider than the standard GV60, adopting model-specific aerodynamic elements, forged wheels and cooling structures.
“Magma reveals a new facet of Genesis, one that elevates the brand towards true luxury through performance," said Genesis’ Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke.
"It shows how emotion and precision can coexist in perfect harmony, defining a more confident and mature expression of Genesis.”
The model includes a redesigned front bumper with a three-hole cooling layout, wider fenders, 21-inch forged wheels and 275-section tyres.

A rear wing-type spoiler and new diffuser design contribute to aerodynamic performance.
The interior uses Chamude trim across touchpoints, combined with orange and grey stitching, quilting details and Magma-specific seat belts.
The steering wheel is exclusive to Magma models and features a unique rim shape and orange drive mode accents.

A dual-motor system delivers 448 kW and 740 Nm, increasing to 478 kW and 790 Nm in Boost Mode for around 15 seconds.
Genesis claims the GV60 Magma can accelerate from 0–200 km/h in 10.9 seconds using Launch Control.

Genesis says the rear motor’s output range has been extended to maintain stable performance at high speed, also stating that high-speed consistency was a core target during development.
Hardware includes recalibrated suspension geometry, Electronic Control Suspension, End-of-Travel control, Hydro G-Bushings at the front and dual-layer bushings at the rear.
Genesis said these were tuned during testing conducted in Korea, the United States, New Zealand and Sweden.
Braking upgrades include front monoblock calipers, large-diameter discs and GG-rated high-friction rear pads. Genesis said these enhancements support repeated high-load braking.
The cabin incorporates noise-reduction systems including Active Noise Control-Road, sound-insulating glass and reinforced door sealing.
Genesis stated these measures help maintain expected luxury quietness despite wider tyres.

A Magma-specific digital interface transforms the instrument cluster into a three-circle layout showing motor temperatures, battery temperatures, G-force and speed.
The Head-Up Display provides simplified performance readouts such as regenerative braking levels and remaining boost time.
Software features include Virtual Gear Shift, Drift Mode and High-Performance Battery Control.
Virtual Gear Shift modifies torque delivery and regenerative braking patterns to simulate step-based acceleration.

Drift Mode adjusts power distribution and e-LSD settings for rear-focused driving behaviour.
High-Performance Battery Control manages battery temperature during repeated high-load events such as track use.

Genesis also revealed the Magma GT Concept, which it described as a long-term performance symbol for the brand.
The company confirmed that it intends to evolve the concept into a halo model in the future.

The event also included earlier concept and prototype models such as the GV80 Coupe Concept, G80 Magma Special, X Gran Berlinetta Concept, G70 Track Taxi, and a G90 Wingback Concept, as well as the GMR-001 Le Mans race car and LMP2 Series car.

Genesis said these experimental vehicles informed the development of the production GV60 Magma.
Genesis referenced the GV60 Magma Concept’s class win at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed as part of its performance validation history.
The model recorded a 52.72-second time on the 1.86-kilometre course.
The GV60 Magma will first launch in South Korea before entering global markets.
Genesis has now confirmed that the GV60 Magma will arrive in Australia in 2026.
